Common questions

Is Core really free forever?
Yes. Graxeon Core is MIT-licensed open source software. You can self-host it for free with no seat limits, no time limits, and no feature caps. We make money on the Pro, Team, and Enterprise cloud plans, not by limiting the open source tier.
What's the difference between Studio and Explorer?
Studio is the full authoring environment — you create schemas, add items, upload files, and manage collections. Explorer is the browsing and sharing interface — team members can view, search, and (if invited as editors) update items without needing full Studio access.
What is the KGL format?
KGL (Knowledge Graph Language) is a plain text file format for storing structured knowledge graphs. Files are human-readable, diff cleanly in git, and can be edited with any text editor. See the KGL format reference for the full spec.
Can I migrate from a hosted plan back to self-hosted Core?
Absolutely. Your data is always stored in KGL files and you can export them at any time. There is no proprietary format or lock-in. Spin up Core locally, import your KGL files, and you're done.
How does the Pro plan trial work?
The 14-day free trial gives you full access to the Pro plan with no credit card required. At the end of the trial you can choose to subscribe or export your data and move to self-hosted Core. Team is billed per seat from the start, with a 3-seat minimum.
What's the difference between monthly and annual billing?
Annual billing saves you about 17% (two months free) compared to paying monthly, on both Pro and Team. You're billed once a year per seat instead of every month; you can switch between monthly and annual at any time from your account billing page.
Are the AI features available on self-hosted Core?
Not currently — AI-assisted classification, semantic search, and automation are part of the managed Pro, Team, and Enterprise cloud plans. Core gives you the full Studio and Explorer experience with no AI dependency, so you can self-host with zero external calls.
